Four Ways to Train
Each mode targets a different skill. Mix them to build complete fluency.
Letter Mode
See a note name on screen. Play it back. That's it — pure note recognition speed. How fast can you map a name to a key? Letter Mode will tell you.
Staff Mode
Notes appear on the staff. You play them. This is sight-reading in its most direct form — training your eyes to decode notation and your hands to execute without hesitation.
Smart Practice (Review Mode)
Powered by spaced repetition. The system surfaces notes you've been drilling based on when they're due for review. Weak spots come back more often. Strong notes fade into the background. When there's nothing due, you'll see "All caught up!" — which means you've earned a break.
Song Mode
Upload any MIDI file and practice it measure by measure, hand by hand. Simplify complex chords down to roots or shells. Songs save to your library so you can pick up where you left off. This is how you bridge drills and real music.

Musical Drill Types
Not random notes. Real musical patterns that build real skill.
Scales & Arpeggios
Scale fragments and arpeggios constrained to your selected key. Build fluency across the keyboard in context, not in isolation.
Chord Progressions
I-IV-V-I, ii-V-I, cadences, and more. Recognize and execute the patterns that show up in real music — not just individual notes.
Melodic Patterns
Sequences and patterns that train your fingers to move through common intervallic shapes. The building blocks of every melody you'll ever read.
Key Selection
Practice in any key — C, G, F, D, Bb, A, Eb, and beyond, plus relative minors. The key signature displays on the staff so you always know where you are.

The Smart Practice System
Every note you play is tracked. The system learns you.
Spaced Repetition Engine
Notework uses SRS to schedule reviews. Notes you nail get pushed further out. Notes you miss come back sooner. Over time, the system zeros in on exactly what you need to practice — and stops wasting your time on what you don't.
Keyboard Mastery Visualization
See your progress mapped across the entire keyboard. Which notes are locked in? Which ones need work? One glance tells you where you stand.
Session Ramping
Sessions don't just throw you into the deep end. They warm up with easier notes, ramp to challenging material in the middle, and cool down at the end. Structured like a real practice session — because that's what it is.

Interactive visualizer showing key relationships at a glance. Click any key to see its relative minor, dominant, subdominant, and all seven diatonic chords.
Scale Finder
Browse 15 scales — major, minor variants, pentatonic, blues, modes, diminished, whole tone. See each scale on the staff and highlighted on the piano.
